Basic MAC Instructions:

Since Macintosh does not include a Windows Media Player in their computers, you will need to download a free Windows Media Player from Microsoft or you can listen to HealthyLife.Net live 24/7 on www.radiotime.com.

How to Download a free Windows Media Player...
A.
You can click here: Windows Media Player 9 for Mac OS X
B. or if you would like to play Windows Media Player on Quicktime click here: Flip4Mac WMV
C. or try this Microsoft software for MAC: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/software/macintosh/osx/default.aspx
D. or here's another method for MAC...
1)Microsoft recommends you download and install Internet Explorer 5.X to access Windows Media Player Content.
2) Remove any older version of Windows Media Player. Drag the Microsoft Media Player to Trash. In the Preferences Folder delete the "Microsoft Media Player Prefs" file. In the Extensions Folder delete the following files to the Trash: Acelp.net Decoder 05.0 kbps, Acelp.net Decoder 06.5 kbps, Acelp.net Decoder 08.5 kbps, Acelp.net Decoder 16.0 kbps, Mpeg Layer -3 Audio, MPG4,

5) The Windows Media Player will download to the location specified in your Browser. The default location is the desktop. You may need to get StuffIt Expander (Aladdin Systems at www.aladdinsys.com) to decompress the Windows Media Player.
6) Double click the installer icon and follow the instructions

Macintosh users often experience problems once they have installed Windows Media Player. You may need to make some adjustments on how you connect to audio links through your WMP, depending on your Mac Operating System.

A way that may work to circumvent problems is to take the URL of the archive audio link and paste it directly into the Windows Media Player. If you want to listen live, try to download this file: http://www.earthchannel.org/media/HealthyLifeLive.asx which may help you receive the stream.

You may also experience problems opening links to some files if you're using Internet Explorer 4.01 or 4.5. To fix: upgrade your browser to Internet Explorer 5 or download the link to your computer, and then open Windows Media Player. Don't forget if you install Internet Explorer 5 after you have installed the Player, run Windows Media Player Setup again. This allows the browser to play Windows Media-based content that is embedded in Web pages. If you have an issue obtaining licensed Windows Media files using Internet Explorer 4.5 . upgrade to Internet Explorer 5 or later.

You may experience problems opening links to content that uses the MMS (Microsoft Media Server) protocol. To play MMS content, start the Player, then on the File menu, click Open URL, and then type the URL.

When using a Web browser to open links to content, the Classic version of Windows Media Player (Windows Media Player 7.01 for Mac or earlier) may launch. To fix the problem, do one or both of the following: A). If you have Mac OS 9.1 or earlier installed in your Classic environment, install Mac OS 9.2 or later in your Classic environment. B)Delete all Classic versions of Windows Media Player from all Classic environments on your computer.

Difficulties in listening from Macs are common. For further help you may want to try this Mac/Windows Media Discussion group: http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windowsmedia.player.mac/topics

We thank you for putting in the time and effort so that you can access our programs.

Basic Mozilla Instructions:

B)Mozilla/Netscape browsers on PC - Right click and "Save Target As" to your desktop and make sure you add the .wax file extension. Once again, locate the file and it will open with your Windows Media player.

General Questions We've Been Asked So Far:

The volume is too low. What can I do?
Try turning up the volume on Windows Media Player and/or your PC speakers. Sound cards differ from PC to PC. We unfortunately do not have control of the quality of your sound card

Sometimes I can't hear the call-ins and sometimes I can. What can I do?
Try turning up the volume on Windows Media Player and/or your PC speakers. We unfortunately do not have control of the quality of incoming guest telephone lines coming into the station. Sometimes the lines are weak, just as they are in terrestrial radio.

Sometimes I can't see your listen live buttons or only part of your home page. What do I do?
There are several reasons that could make this occur. It could be a software problem like a setting in Internet Options (make sure that your security options are set to medium) or it could be your internet provider (try unplugging the electrical cord on your DSL modem and replugging it in to reset the modem and line, then turn off your computer and turn it back on) or, most likely, you have Norton Internet Security, a seperate software package with its own seperate icon, which sometimes gets bundled with Norton Anti-Virus which can prevent you from receiving some of the images. (Disable the Norton Internet Security package ONLY...NOT your Norton Anti-Virus.)

Sometimes I want to dial in to ask a question but I only have 1 phone line. I'm using that phone line to listen to the program. What can I do?
Try minimizing Windows Media Player, go to HealthyLife.Net's home page and Click the "Chat Room". button. Follow the instructions and type in your question. The host of the show will see it and answer your question for you right on the air or on their next show.

Why can't I receive the radio show on my PC?
Make sure you have the correct Internet Browser and that your browser is configured correctly. We recommend Windows Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher or Netscape 4.0 or higher.

Why are there stops, buffering, gaps or poor sound quality when I am listening? Why do I sometimes get a delay when trying to connect to your radio shows?
This is usually caused by your Internet Provider (e.g., AOL, Verizon, Earthlink). It is because of stress, strain or the availability of the bandwidth they have allocated for Internet connectivity. It can also be caused by congested lines which are being accessed by more users than your Internet Provider can handle or it could be that you are running too many applications on your computer at the same time that you are trying to listen to a radio show. If you are on a LAN network the number of users and/or PCs could be the cause. In most cases this condition is almost always temporary, just try again.

How can I access your radio shows through a firewall?
You will have to make the following changes to your Windows Media Player Configuration:
Windows Media Player 7 (PC) Click on Tools, Select Options, Click Network, Locate Proxy Settings, Double Click HTTP Browser, Select Use browser proxy settings, Click OK, Click OK
Windows Media Player 6.3 (MAC) Click on Preference Menu, Select Edit, Select Use Proxy for HTTP Streaming, Enter the name of your proxy server and the port number. Contact your Network Administrator if you do not know what to enter.

Sometimes I can't get your archive shows to play. What do I do?
This is usually because you need to hit your refresh button. We periodically are adding, changing and deleting archived shows. To make sure you are on a CURRENT archive page, hit your refresh button, this usually solves the problem.
